My Goals for Your Framing: Going from "Ewww" to "Oooh"
Picture framing is so emotional. Mentally there is a lot invested in just the right frame, the right color of mat, the right—-everything!
So to make your framing experience more fun, think about this:
Every suggestion that is put up against your art doesn’t have to be validated. I tell my clients “I didn’t give birth to the frame.” It’s okay to say you don’t like it. It actually is helpful to hear you say “Ewww!” It also helps me to feel what you like and show you the best options.
The art will tell you what it wants to be. It really will. Stay open minded. Sometimes the one idea you gave the least thought to is the best choice for your art! It is hard to put words to some emotions, but when I hear you say “Ooooh…..” I’m pretty sure we have the winner.
It’s my goal to get you from Ewww to Oooh. Isn’t that a fine definition of good framing?
